Heather Cooper ~
Founder / Club Director
Heather is the heart and soul behind hcSYNERGY Volleyball Club. As founder and Club Director, she wanted to be able to share her love and passion for volleyball and its impact on the athletes that come together as a team and at the same grow as individuals. Having a volleyball club was a goal of Heather’s after she first started playing the game 16 years ago. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Degree in Recreation and Leisure, with a Minor in Communication.
Her volleyball career started at Pioneer High School where she played as a setter, 2 years on JV and 2 years on Varsity. During her first year at San Jose State University, she missed being part of volleyball and asked if she could assist coaching the girls’ volleyball team at Pioneer. They said yes and she hasn’t stopped since. Her coaching experience continued at Pioneer High School as well as Oak Grove where she took the last place JV to first place in their division. Not content with just coaching high school teams, Heather coached at NYC Volleyball Club and City Beach and finally started her own club in 2008. Heather currently is the Volleyball Program Director for both the Girls and Boys Volleyball Program at Branham High School. She also works at Branham as a Special Education para-educator and is very active in the Best Buddies Program. Since her tenure at Branham, Heather has advanced her girls program from the C Division up to the A Division and has gone to CCS the past 7 seasons. In 2013 she was instrumental in starting the Girls Frosh Volleyball Program at Branham.
Several players that have been coached by Heather at Branham have been recruited and are currently playing on college teams such as Texas A and M and Loyala. Many of the players that were on her power team last year made the Frosh and JV teams at Presentation, Mitty and Valley Christian Volleyball teams as a Freshman.
